Is Big Country Mobile Med the Same as Key City Mobile IV?
Is Big Country Mobile Med the Same as Key City Mobile IV?
No—we’re not the same.
While both Big Country Mobile Med and Key City Mobile IV are mobile services in Abilene that both offer mobile IVs, there are some important differences you should know—especially if you’re looking for more than just IV therapy.

What Makes Big Country Mobile Med Different?
We’re a full-service mobile urgent care.
Big Country Mobile Med provides a much broader range of in-home medical services, including:
• ✅ Mobile IV Therapy (hydration, vitamin blends, NAD, peptides, and more)
• ✅ Urgent Care Visits for illness, fever, infections, and more
• ✅ Strep, Flu, RSV & COVID Testing – With rapid results
• ✅ Rocephin Injections – Fast-acting antibiotic therapy
• ✅ Steroid Shots – For allergies, sinus infections, asthma, and more
• ✅ True Grit Shot – Our popular anti-inflammatory injection combo
• ✅ Phone Visits / Telehealth – When you just need quick advice or a prescription
——
Let’s focus on the IV packages:
✅ All-Inclusive IV Packages – What Sets Us Apart
Our IVs might be priced slightly higher than some other services—but there’s a reason why. At Big Country Mobile Med, we prioritize quality, comfort, and real medical value.
• We use pediatric-sized IV needles so the stick is as gentle and painless as possible—far more comfortable than what you’d experience in an ER or with a paramedic-led service such as Key City Mobile IV.
• All medication and vitamins are included in the package price—no surprise fees or hidden upcharges at checkout.
• We don’t nickel-and-dime for add-ons that should be part of the visit. What we quote is what you pay.
While smaller-gauge IVs may take slightly longer to run, our patients find it a worthwhile trade-off for the added comfort and inclusive care. The only extra cost may be for different testing that are currently $25 each for (strep, covid/flu combo, RSV) if they are needed at all during your visit.
We also offer what others can’t:
• On-site diagnosis and prescriptions when appropriate
• Rocephin, steroid shots, and anti-nausea medications—administered by licensed providers
• IV warmers during cooler months, so your infusion is warm and comfortable from start to finish
Unlike paramedic-only services, we treat the whole person, not just dehydration or a hangover. Our goal isn’t just to hydrate you—it’s to actually help you feel better when you’re sick. We often text a few days after your visit to ensure you are feeling better and a text away if you need anything. You are more than an IV visit—you are a valued client we hope to serve in multiple ways for years to come. We are in the relationship business as much as medical business.
We don’t just do IVs—we provide real medical care at home, with licensed providers who treat patients of all ages.

When You Might Need More Than Just IVs
Mobile IV therapy is great for things like:
• Fatigue
• Dehydration
• Hangovers
• Preventative wellness
But what if you have strep throat? A sinus infection? A sick child with RSV symptoms? A stomach bug?
That’s where Big Country Mobile Med truly shines. We combine convenience with full clinical capabilities—bringing the clinic to your door. If you have a stomach bug, sure an IV with nausea meds can help—but what happens when the nausea meds wear off in a few hours and you’re back to vomiting? You would wish you had used Big Country Mobile Med and had nausea meds called in during your visit free of additional charges. Or what if the “stomach bug” is actually your gallbladder causing issues, would a paramedic even pick up on that versus a FNP or long experienced RN?
What is stellar about Big Country Mobile Med, is if you decide you want meds called in after the fact a few days later, just let us know and its considered complementary of that IV visit if its treating the same illness. That’s customer service unheard of in the medical field.
If you want JUST an IV with vitamins or limited meds— save a few dollars and use Key City Mobile IV. If you’re actually sick and need full care beyond an IV, try Big Country Mobile Med and you’ll be glad you did and ultimately will save money. Plus you have direct access to a FNP which is a huge plus.
